Protect Yourself while Protecting Your Customers! |

Spyware and Viruses of all varieties are plaguing the internet... What
are you going to do about it? Why the 'you' in that question, you
might be asking? You play a crucial role in preventing the spread
of such nuisances and if you choose not to take the responsibility of
that role-- you are a part of the problem. In this day and age of
the internet you can contract a plethora of viruses and spyware by
simply visiting the wrong site. Due to poor server security a
website may be infected without the webmaster's knowledge of it.
You can get viruses from receiving e-mails or exchanging software or
insertion of any form of storage device or media like external hard
drives, CDs and floppy disks.
So why is it your
responsibility to prevent it-- and what can you do about it? It is
your responsibility, since very little can be done to stop the
individuals who create such monstrosities, to do what you can to stop it
dead in its tracks. If you are in business on the web and receive
ANY private information like social security or credit card numbers, you
will want to take action now! You may be infected and not know it
and if you are-- simply logging into your online bank account could give
your user name and password to someone who's willing to enjoy that money
a little more than you might. Protect your computer. You owe
it to yourself AND you owe it to your customers that have trusted you
with that information. You protect your computer by utilizing the
latest in spyware and virus protection programs.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A VICTIM! |
For our
local clients, we typically sit with them and walk them through how to
use their shopping cart and how to check their e-mails. Almost
every single time that we do so we discover pop-ups all over their
desktop and other tale tale signs that their computers are badly
infected. Does that make them a bad person? No. It
doesn't. They are simply uninformed of the dangers lurking around
every corner of the web. We try to educate our customers on what
to do to protect their private information and the information of their
customers. If we see those pop-ups and tale tale signs of viruses
and spyware on their computers we will not proceed with setting them up.
We require first that they first utilize the Ad-Aware trial version to
confirm our suspicions and if the software discovers harmful programs
running on their system-- We encourage them to buy Spyware Doctor &
Norton Anti-Virus and to inoculate their computer before proceeding.
The two of them together along with the periodic updated & scan from
Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D usually does the trick. Simply running
Norton without a good spyware program will not protect you.
There are
very bad people out to steal your identity, bank account information and
the valuable information of your clients. They can log every
single site that you visit, every single thing that you type on your
computer and a lot worse. You don't have to be a victim. You
can do something about it... And now you know what to do.
